This class is on-land. For intermediate and advanced padders.
You will learn how to deal with cold weather, what to wear, and how to avoid hypothermia. You need to complete this class to go on any winter trips.
This class is free. But if you sign up for a winter trip in the future, there will be a $50/year fee on top of your regular membership to become a winter paddle.
On the water, winter paddlers must wear dry suits. NBCB has suits and other winter gear to lend members.
The class is at Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Center in LIC. 57-28 2nd St Unit 105, Queens, NY 11101. Feel free to bring food and or beverages.
