KAYAK: Intermediate / Winter Paddle Class (on land)

  • Registering as a Kayak Paddler. Make sure you've been assessed for the skill level of this trip before registering.
  • Only select this if you have been assessed as a NBCB Kayak Trip Assistant.

In this class, on land, you will learn how to deal with cold weather, what to wear and how to avoid hypothermia. You need to take this class, very easy to pass, in order to be in any trip during winter.

If you want to take the trip on Saturday, November 11th to Orchard Beach in The Bronx, take this class. We have wet suits and other gear for you to wear. You can also take this winter paddle class to improve your kayaking skills. 

There is a $50/year fee to become a winter paddle. The class is at Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Center in LIC.  57-28 2nd St Unit 105, Queens, NY 11101
