CANOE: Beginner / Intermediate: Williamsburg Bridge with optional rescues in Bushwick Inlet

Williamsburg Bridge, with optional rescues.

We'll have a sunny (hopefully!) paddle to Williamsburg Bridge, and take a leisurely break under the bridge to hydrate and take in the day.

On the paddle home, we'll pull into Bushwick Inlet.  For the willing, this is a great time of year to review rescues!  The water is warm and the Inlet is a protected and *safe* place to get wet and learn (or refresh) how to empty a canoe and efficiently get back in.  After having some fun, we'll ride the flood back to our home port.

NOTE: the number of beginner slots available depends on how many advanced paddlers sign up.

  • Skill level:  Beginner to Intermediate (see what this means here)
  • Meet: 11:45pm
  • Launch: 12:00pm
  • Slack to flood at WB: 1:12pm (max flow 3.3kn at 4pm)
  • Slack to flood at 31st St: 1:42pm
  • Return & Release: 4pm
