    What to wear and bring

“All human plans [are] subject to ruthless revision by Nature, or Fate, or whatever one preferred to call the powers behind the Universe.”

― Arthur C. Clarke, 2010: Odyssey Two

CHANGE OF PLANS — Due to water quality concerns, this even will no longer be a rescue practice.

But it should still be fun!
Original description below.
_______________________

We'll paddle to Anabel Basin on tandem canoes, and practice swamping and rescuing them and each other.

This will be a refresher for those who have already taken ACA Level 2 courses and a primer for those looking to do so. You don't have to participate in rescues if you don't want to: we'll maintain at least one dry boat.

If you want to practice rescues, bring clothes you can swim in! We will maintain a dry boat where we can store our belongings, but rescuing is an in-water activity, and you will get wet if you participate. Wear clothes and shoes (shoes are absolutely mandatory) that can get wet and that will not come off (no flip-flops).

If you wear glasses bring a lanyard, and consider leaving them on the dry boat.
