KAYAK: Advanced: North and South Brothers Circ

  • Registering as a Kayak Paddler. Make sure you've been assessed for the skill level of this trip before registering.
  • Only select this if you have been assessed as a NBCB Kayak Trip Assistant.

Volunteers have been working hard.  We've completed more than 30 beginner or community trips this season!  Let's enjoy a long paddle and explore NYC waterways to a place we don't see very often .  Time permitting, we'll pull up our boats on the beach at Baretto Park to stretch our legs and enjoy a leisurely lunch before paddling back on the ebb..

Note: this trip is  about 12.5 nautical miles long.  For reference, a Roosevelt Circ is 6.5nm, the beach at Pier 4 is 8nm round trip and the Manhattan Circ is 25nm.

North and South Brother Island Circ

  • Skill level: Advanced (see what this means here)
  • Meet:  10:45am sharp at MASE
  • Launch Kayaks: 11:30am
  • High slack 1:58pm at South Brother Island (1:54pm at HG).  Neap tide.
  • Return & Release: 4:30pm

Bring sun protection, plenty of water, a lunch (or snack) and, as always, dress to get wet!
