KAYAK: Intermediate : Sunset Roosevelt Island Circumnavigation

  • Registering as a Kayak Paddler. Make sure you've been assessed for the skill level of this trip before registering.
  • Only select this if you have been assessed as a NBCB Kayak Trip Assistant.

Paddlers like to go around things.  So let's do that!  Counter clockwise ( or as the British say "anti clockwise" ) circumnavigation of Roosevelt Island.  We'll pull up our boats at Hallet's Cove for a water break waiting for high slack and then enjoy the sunset as we paddle home with the ebbing tide.

  • Meet: 5:30pm sharp at Manhattan Avenue Street-End Park
  • Launch Kayaks: 6:00pm
  • Slack to Ebb: 7:42pm at HG, 7:50pm at 31st St
  • Sunset 8:26pm
  • Return & Release: 9:15pm

Dress to get wet, bring water, a snack, etc. Please no jeans or other heavy cotton clothing.
