  • Registering as a Beginner Paddler. Select this option if you're a beginner.
  • Select this option if you're an intermediate/advanced Kayaker that hasn't yet been assessed by a NBCB Trip Leader. You will need to demonstrate a wet exit and assisted rescue on this trip.
  • Only select this if you have been assessed as a NBCB Kayak Trip Assistant.

Welcome to sea kayaking at NBCB!  We'll start this beginner class with important information on gear and safety.   Then we'll cover some basic strokes to help you learn how to control your kayak.  And finally we'll embark on a short trip where you can gaze up at the NYC skyline while working on your technique!

Dress to get wet, bring water, a snack, etc. Avoid jeans or other heavy cotton clothing.
