This trip is for members who haven't paddled with us before and need to get qualified to join Intermediate trips AND members who have little/no experience and want to try out a deck boat (Sea Kayak with narrow cockpit and, often, a skirt cover).

We will take a very short canoe trip to the launch from Manhattan Ave Street End Park (MASE) (yes, a 2-Boat paddle!). We'll then prep the kayaks and launch from the Ash St boatyard.

We'll get oriented with NBCB's fleet of sea kayaks, help each other launch and then paddle to the East River.
