KAYAK: Intermediate: Early Sunday Island Hopping

  • Meet at Manhattan Avenue Street-End Park
  • Skill level:  Intermediate Advanced (see what this means here)
  • Meet: 8:30AM
  • High Slack at 19th St Pier 10:38am
  • Return: noon-ish
  • Trip leader: Dewey   dthompson AT pickerelpie  DOT etc.
  • What to wear and bring

We will canoe ferry to the launch from Manhattan Ave Street End Park (MASE) [yes, a 2-Boat paddle!).  We'll prep the boats and launch from Ye Olde Boatyarde.  Head up the East Channel past Roosevelt Island, turn at the lighthouse and head back down past the aviary  that is U Thant Island.  Easy peasy Sunday squeezy.  (slightly nauseous just reading that back)
