WINTER KAYAKING SAFETY WORKSHOP: Part 1 & 2

Sad about the end of paddling season? Can’t wait till June to get back on the water?
Intermediate and Advanced kayakers interested in becoming winter paddlers can attend NBCB’s Winter Kayaking Safety Workshop. You must take this course to take part in winter trips. Once completed, there is a $50 fee for the winter season.
Dry suits must be worn when paddling in cold temperatures. NBCB has dry suits available to borrow.
Depending on interest, the workshop will be held at either a location in Greenpoint, or in Long Island City. We will let participants know in advance. This is an indoor event.
There are two parts to the workshop:
Part 1 - Lecture, demo, and quiz
Part 2 - You will demonstrate proper gear and show you can get in and out of a kayak unassisted wearing a dry suit.
