Bike & Sketch Randalls Island,

Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh

Nature Journaling & Urban Sketching are great ways to appreciate the environment around us. We'll pedal an approximately 15 mile loop with stops to take in the views and to create some art. No experience necessary. Lunch stop at the Bronx Brewery.

 Bring your own art materials. Bike at your own risk. You must sign a waiver. 

There will be a restroom and lunch break. 

10:15 am Meet at Sweetleaf in Long Island City, 10-93 Jackson Ave, Queens, NY near the base of the Pulaski Bridge in LIC

10:15 Depart to Randalls Island via the RFK Bridge.

1 pm: Bronx Brewery & Empanology

4:30 pm End back at Sweetleaf in LIC

NOTE: We will travel over the RFK Bridge's single lane pedestrian walkway to Randall's Island. 

Minimum supplies to bring: Paper/sketchpad/nature journal and pencil. Suggested to bring: fine liner markers, travel watercolor kit, colored pencils, binoculars.

NOTE:  Bike at your own risk. Please obey all bike safety rules and  wear a helmet. We will bike on city streets sometimes with car traffic, using bike lanes whenever possible.   NBCB is not responsible for bike repairs, fixing flat tires or bike equipment.  

Bring a bike lock.

Moderate pace, mostly flat except for the Bridge to and from Randalls Island.
