Hello Community! In preparation of our Rock the Pulaski party, we are going to clean up the boat yard on Friday Sept 21 from 6- 8 pm. We need help with:

Fri PM:

  • Shift enough stuff from next to the call a head so a second one can be placed next to it.  (will be done by Friday)
  • Move some firewood from storage next to the changing room, to the firewood stacks between #2 & #3, so that the pallet holding in the firewood can be straightened a bit. Some of the wood there is actually trash from an old dock that can't be burned so can be put in the trash area.
  • Straighten up Ed Shed area and stow folding chairs, ladders etc around there in or beside shed as needed.
  • Straighten up Crystal Shed area and move tables, chairs, junk and tools etc around there into neater piles.
  • Bag up loose soccer balls in a clear bag, put them somewhere
  • Place garbage and recycling cans strategically
  • 2 people: Move broken wheeled Weber grill somewhere safe, it will fall over.  Could be next to big grill, behind #2 if there's room, or by #5 yellow cabinet area
  • Check top of Ed Shed, stairs and railings for hazards to musicians; remove overgrown vines, debris, etc. Anything on the stage, plants, whatever - should be moved to the top of #3 for the performers. The plywood ton the stage should have the mending plates moved with a screw gun or drill.
  • Set up a canoe as ice bucket behind bar - Patterson or Willis to designate which boat - (probably red Old Town in #3 this time)
  • Clear off, wipe down and move white Bar table from Crystal Shed to bar area, clear off other crystal shed tables.
  • Moving/making tables for events: we need a table by the front gate w/ chairs, and a merch table at the shower area.  Use saw horses from big canoes and plywood to make tables as needed.
  • String Lights - I think are in #5, - get those out and string some up, if possible
  • Using the car jack to move container 3 back to towards the fence.
  • Close up Ed Shed under Willis' Direction

Saturday day of:

  • Do anything not completed Friday
  • Make fire pit a parsimonious size = smaller by half
  • Bring some "party" wood (old lumber, not real logs so much) down.
  • Close up dock/railing with wood by mulberry tree (Klaus has a circ trip coming back, can supervise; wait for him
  • See how things look and please just make them better as you can.  Fire pit area, the table and counter there, our flotsam collection can always be spiffed up. Near #1 by white board & kayaks, move umbrellas, junk, etc.  We can make storage out of the changing room area and close that o.
  • Opening container #1 = is nice to do.  (If containers are open to show off boats, we try to close them before it gets dark.)
Any help will be appreciated. Just show up! Best, Mary, Patterson and Willis
