Lady Liberty Circumnavigation

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

--which opened up to a room decorated in a five day workweek 9 to 5 style ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Let's celebrate your work, though. It'll be an early Labor Day start for the team (w

e'll aim to return in-time for your other holiday plans).

  • Skill level is advanced
    • See what this means here
    • It's about 14 nautical miles round trip with some choppy water and channel crossings.
  • Meeting 06:30.
  • Bodies in boats in the creek at 07:00.
  • We're looking to return before 13:00.
  • TL: Noah Diary.
  • What to wear and bring
We're heading south to the NY upper bay. Crossing state lines, we'll do our best  to respect security zones while rounding Lady Liberty (she lives in Jersey but says she's a New Yorker).

Timing and teamwork is important as we cross busy channels.

You must be comfortable with wet-exiting and also know how to have a t-rescue performed upon you.

We'll divide and conquer the labor. Please apply for the following positions if you like:
  • Ferry Forester: You will continually monitor all incoming and outgoing vessels and appropriately alert and advise our  VHF Vicereine/Viceroy
  • Currents Countess /Count: You will be responsible for managing breaks and keeping the group on time with the environment constraints.
  • VHF Vicereine/Viceroy: You will be provided with a VHF radio and make all proper transmissions.
  • Rescuer Reeve: You will be the initial rescuer in any capsize.
  • Weather Wonder: You will know pull-out points along our route and will monitor wind and other environmental conditions and report appropriately.

Adventure time.

Email Noah at waterpowered@noahesq.com re any questions.

*route's subject to change, particularly on our return leg (e.g., we may skirt around the southern side of G.I.)
