If you have never seen a decked sea kayak from below the water line, this is your chance! We will paddle to Bushwick Inlet to practice the one thing everyone kayaker should know, how to keep the cool during an unwanted capsize. Depending on the comfort level of the participants, this session will include simple balance and bracing exercises, bow and t-rescues.
All participants will fully submerge and get wet. Please wear fast drying clothing and water booties or sandals and bring a set of dry clothes for after the trip. We might have a beer and debrief afterwards.
Preferences will be given to intermediate members who had no or limited options to practice rescue and recovery.
