Let's get started from the beginning. New members, new kayakers, curious folks; join Monica and Jonny for a foundations of kayaking session this Saturday June 9th. We will go over the basics of boat anatomy, paddling equipment, and strokes. NBBC has three skill levels and we will explain what they are and how progress through them as well as the ACA (governing body of paddle sports in USA) levels and certifications that are available. We'll learn how to fit a boat, get outfitted with a PFD and paddle and how to do the basic stroke. Then well go for a paddle in the creek to apply these new skills.
