We still wait for the river to warm up enough to paddle on it. NBBC's safety protocols dictate a water temp of 60F, and while we're agonizingly close, we're not quite there!

But that's OK! Let the ferries think they run the place -- for now! We'll be back there soon. In the meantime, our very own Superfun(d) Newtown Creek awaits the intrepid canoeist: you!

So we'll throw some boats in the Creek and paddle as far as we feel like: maybe back to the Turning Basin to check out the latest industrial insult: FedEx's new bird-deterrent siren. Because everyone hates birds, right? And maybe up to the mouth to take in the sunset. Because everyone hates the sun, too, right? Right?

Right!

Forecast looks pretty good, with air temps in the high 70s, but it can be cool on the water when the sun goes down, so dress in layers!

Are you deterred? You will be . . . you will be . . .
