Postponed due to possible winter storm and record low temperatures.

Take this workshop and required paddle assessment if you'd like to become an NBBC Winter Paddler.  Limited to 4 participants.

Please do not sign up if you do not have the qualifications below. DRYSUITS REQUIRED. We have a few to lend or bring your own.

To Sign up for the workshop  you must:

  1. Be listed on our Members kayak roster as an NBBC intermediate paddler
  2. Able to set up your kayak & gear.
  3. Get into & out of your kayak unassisted at the dock. No one will hold your boat steady.

To be a Winter Paddler you must pass the verbal quiz during Part 1 AND go on the short paddle wearing a dry suit during Part 2

Part 1 - 11am - noon. Lecture & review of winter paddling safety & gear.  With Quiz you must pass.

Part 2 - noon - 3 pm Put on a dry suit and go on a paddle to Bushwick Inlet.
