Registration is closed

Don't let your kayak drift off because you used a bad knot to tie it off.  There are thousands of knots, but you only need a few for kayaking. 

NOTE: this is hosted at the LIC Community Boathouse, a 10 minute walk from the NBBC boatyard.

Directions

Square Knot or Reef Knot - a basic all purpose knot, and why it's better than a Granny Knot

Bowline - to securely attach a painter line (many call this a bow line) to their kayak

Half Hitch - Basic knot

Clove hitch - to tie your boat to a pole, tree, railing, etc

Chain Coiling - to shorten Towline

Cleat Hitch - tie your kayak to the dock.

Lark's Foot - attach whistle to pfd

Double Fisherman - attach two ropes together
