If you'd like to join our off season kayak paddles, you need to attend this workshop and be assessed.

You need to show:

  • An understanding of Immersion gear, such as dry suits and when to wear them.
  • The challenges and dangers of cold water paddling.
  • What hyperthermia is and how to prevent it.
  • Demonstrate Intermediate paddles skills: set up boat & gear, launch and get out of kayak unassisted, proficiency with paddles strokes.
You must be an intermediate paddler to attend this workshop.
Bring any immersion gear you have to share information about the options.

No latecomers
12-1 Discussion about hypothermia and a demonstration of immersion gear.
1-3:30 An assessment paddle for those interested. (slak at 2:15pm)
