One of the LAST CHANCES for new/beginner paddlers to get on the water this season!
The Bushwick Inlet is one of the only natural embayments on the East River's Brooklyn shore and has been fenced off from human (not including Civil War re-enactors - it happens to be the site where the USS Monitor was built and launched in 1862) access for at least 40 years. It is an accidental sanctuary for migrating birds and all kinds of aquatic wildlife. It is also part of the 27 acre Bushwick Inlet Park promised to the community by the City (www.bushwickinletpark.org) in the 2005 Waterfront Rezoning Agreement.
