Saturday Events

Morning: Barberry Invasives Clean up, 9am to 12pm

NBBC members are encouraged to volunteer! Event description from the ACA camp: Our land is being choked by Berberis invasive plants. As stewards of this land, we need to help keep our native plants and land from being destroyed and overtaken by these invasives. We have already had two clean-ups last year. We cleared Berberis from our camp and the road from Seven Lakes drive to the ACA/ADK fork. Next we need to continue our efforts by focusing on the area from the fork to the ADK lodge. We can't let the Berberis win. They are relentless. . . we have to be relentless! Volunteers from ACA and ADK will work in partnership as we have for both of our other clean-ups.

What to wear: long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks and heavy shoes/boots, hat
What to bring: water and snacks, googles, work gloves, tarps
What will be supplied: loppers, work gloves, googles, tarps

Afternoon: Leaf Printing workshop, led by Erica Pajerowski, 1pm to 2:30 pm

Help NBBC get our required volunteer hours by attending this fun leaf-printing workshop. Two events in one! Making leaf prints is a fun and easy craft for kids of all ages. After we meet up, we’ll take a brief walk through the campground to collect our materials (leaves of all shapes and sizes) before we return to the Pavillion for painting and printing time! Note: All necessary art materials will be provided by the club.

Evening: Post-Sunset Party at the Cabin

We’ll make a meal by the fire pit and revel in the joys of having our very own club cabin.  This event is bring-your-own-booze! Finish out the day by star-gazing on the dock.

Sunday events

Extend the good times by staying on for Sunday to participate in A Day at the Lake, led by Lisa Nett. Day time activities will be optional (hiking, swimming, paddling, volunteering to help us meet our work requirements, etc.) before we share a potluck dinner. See our events calendar for more details!

See you there!
