This is a practice paddle for the intermediate paddler. It's almost full moon so we will enter a full flood current, crossing over directly to UThant island to play with the local currents and eddies... it will be important to NOT get swept up into the Rosevelt Island west channel current when we move east before crossing back over to the LIC gantry and crabbing back along the LIC shore. We are not going all that far so for the most part you can shift your focus between your skills and/or your stamina.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED MEMBER paddles are generally NOT for new members nor for prior members whose skill level have yet to be assessed and confirmed by one of our NBBC trip leaders. This is particularly true for my weeknight Sunset Paddles which adhere to a tight launch schedule. You must be familiar with our facilities and equipment, have graduated from NBBC's BEGINNER trips, participated in skill building paddles - or be assessed PRIOR to this trip by an NBBC trip leader.
