ED Shed Open House

  • July 15, 2016

  • 51 Ash Street

For all those who have been to the boatyard, walked past the cutout container, seen some aquariums and posters inside and wondered what the hell is going on. Well, we call this the ED Shed and use it for our environmental education programming. Come learn more about the space and the awesome programming we run from it, including how to use some of the cool toys hidden inside like plankton nets, fish traps, salt marsh aquariums, digital microscopes, sewer models and more! We will also give some overview of basic programming we run for schools groups that covers historical and current environmental issues with Newtown Creek.

So come see some fish, learn some history and hang out at the ED Shed on a Friday night. The program will be led by Willis Elkins, program manager of the Newtown Creek Alliance and coordinator of environmental education at NBBC.

This event is open to all and is family friendly.
