Kayak Clinic Session 1
Vincent Bonomi is your ACA instructor for the day
This will be a 5-6 hour skills building Clinic to Learn Kayak skills and is a base of knowledge for taking the ACA Level 2 Coastal kayaking skills assessment. The clinic will run by an ACA instructor and NBBC trip leaders assisting. Strokes, Bracing, Rescue & Recovery and Towing will all be addressed over the 3 Clinics.
The day will start with fast paddle up to Hallets cove with a fast current. Pack a lunch to have in Socrates sculpture park.
Skills to cover
Sweep strokes, Low brace turn, bow rescue, wet exit, Paddle float rescue, T-rescue and paddling backwards.
If there is time we will cover bracing and self rescue.
This is set for all skill levels however if you do not have any experience in a Deck Sea Kayak please refrain from signing up or ask other trip leaders if they think you are ready for this clinic.
Dress to get wet, bring a pair of dry cloths, sun block, something to eat and plenty of water
