This is a series of 2 consecutive weekly paddles. These are easier skills building trips intended for members with some previous experience. If you can't or don't want to do both weeks, just contact me directly at the email below and I'll try my best to accommodate you.

We'll take several tandem canoes into the East River, where current will help carry us to our destination.  This is an intermediate trip; if you have never paddled with us before please look for one of our still water "skills and drills" trips to get started.

Sign up and come to both, you will experience two very different short river trips. We'll head south with the currents the first week to visit Bushwick Inlet and East River State park, where cormorants will join us as we watch the sunset. The second week currents will help carry us to L.I.C. and Anable Basin where we'll again be able to view the sunset, this time from beneath the 59th Street Bridge.

Meet: 6:20 On-water, gate locked 6:45 Low Slack: 8:03PM Return, clean up approx. 9PM

As we are traveling with tidal current, on-time arrival is a must.  The gate will be locked by 6:45.

Dress with layers for exercise and the sun. Avoid all cotton in any percentage (and yes, denim IS made of cotton!) Water temperatures are still very chilly.  We have tap water, if you bring a bottle.

No-shows risk losing signup privileges.  Email pbeckwith at gmail.com if you are a last-minute cancellation please.
