[UPDATE: CANCELLED: OUR NEIGHBORS DECIDED TO POSTPONE THIS PILOT, AND SO OUR HELP--THOUGH APPRECIATED--IS MOOTED.]
The North calls.
A new NYC Ferry landing has been planted at Hallets Cove, right by where our neighbor to the north, LICCB, has been running its public paddle programming for almost a decade.
They (LICCB) need to ensure that they can continue operating a safe public paddling program there, and will be running a mock public program on this morning.
We need experienced paddlers to head on over and not mind paddling close to the new landing, to see whether LICCB's decade-long program can safely continue. The more boats that show up and pretend-paddle in the embayment, the better the conclusions it may help them draw.
That is, our feedback will help them decide how to structure their 2018 public paddle program, or whether they must cancel it altogether.
INFO
Although destination's Hallets Cove, water and air temperature bump this one to an advanced level trip. You must be assessed as a winter paddler, also--cold-water gear necessary.
